Arna was born the first of four children to Lloyd and Thelma Lankford on July 3, 1927, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She moved to Auburn when she was nine years old and lived there all of her youth. She was an aspiring journalist, and had a love of music and dance. Auburn was her home no matter where she lived and she treasured her childhood memories there.
Arna went to be with her beloved mother and daddy, sister (Phyllis) and brother (Bob) on July 30, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Thomas Abell Sr.
Mom will be remembered for her great wit, creative stories, wonderful Santa letters and her love for us all. Arna worked for the Douglas Drug Company, State of California and the San Mateo School District.
Mom requested a graveside service only which will be held at the New Auburn Cemetery, 1040 Collins Dr, Auburn, Ca on Friday August 7 at 1 p.m.
