Exie Lankford Goard, 88, of Patrick Springs, Virginia died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
She was born on April 16, 1928 to the late Ida Hill and Frank Lankford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Goard; three sisters: Dorothy Hardy, Ollie Johnson, Mary Ellen Pack; four brothers: William Lankford, Coy Lankford, Charlie Lankford, Henry Lankford; and one step-son, Jeffrey Goard.
She worked for Bassett Furniture Company as a sprayer for many years.
Surviving are her son: Alexander Toufas of Ridgeway, Va; one daughter, Janice Keatly of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters: Margaret Massey of Patrick Springs, VA and Pauline Nelson of Stuart, VA.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services Chapel in Stuart with Reverend J.R. Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart, VA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Chapel in Stuart, VA.
