Laura Lankford Blue, 79, of Chase City, affectionately known as "Gee-Gee", died September 1, 2007. She was a retired employee of Hampco Apparel and a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hiram Carvell Wells and was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Jean Gill. Mrs. Blue is survived by her husband, Robert Blue, daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Richard Wallace of Drakes Branch; son, Michael Blue of Caret, Va.; sister, Bessie Tharpe of Saxe; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
