|Birth: ||Oct. 6, 1919|
In the wee hours of the morning Sept. 20, 2012, our beautiful little mother very reluctantly left our world to finally join our dad and other beloved family members who have been waiting for her beyond the veil.
Lorenzo David and Emma Irene (Amy) Welch Larsen were blessed with the birth of a tiny baby girl Oct. 6, 1919. They named her Emma Ila Larsen. She was the third child of 10. She lived and grew up in Newton, Utah.
Mother met her sweetheart, Rulon D. Ahrens, at a dance in Newton in 1936. They were married for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on March 30, 1938.
Mother leaves behind four of her children, Rula Brown of Torrance, Calif., Janet Hawkins (Spencer) of Layton, Utah, Glen Ahrens (Susie) of West Bountiful, Utah, and Sharon Wilson Newton (Dave) of Syracuse, Utah; daughter-in-law Julie Ahrens of West Valley; 20 grandchildren, 46.5 great-grandchildren and 3.5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rulon, son David, parents, nine siblings, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Many thanks to the caring Symbii Hospice nurses, Elisa and Heather, and CNA Leslie. But most of all to daughter Janet and her husband Spence for all the love and care they provided for Mother.
Please join family and friends for a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield Road in Layton, Utah. You are also invited to celebrate mother's life at a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the Layton Utah Creekside Stake Center, 1480 W. Phillips St. in Kaysville, Utah, with a viewing at the stake center one hour prior to services. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Logan City Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com.
