Early Life: Charles was born June 6, 1929, at home in Glendale, Idaho, to Percey William and Eulalia Welker Larsen. Growing up on the family farm, he learned the attributes of hard work, integrity, and service that became hallmarks of his life.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: In 1948, he graduated from Brigham Young University and The University of Kansas City at Missouri School of Dentistry in 1952. Charles married Vera Hatch in the Logan Utah Temple on August 22, 1950. After graduation from dental school, he joined the United States Coast Guard, where he served four years and completed a residency with the US Department of Health. He had a successful dental practice in California for 38 years. Charles loved being outdoors and had a true appreciation for the beauty of nature. He loved to fish, hunt, and garden, especially if it was with his family. He was a loving, kind, and patient father and husband, and an example to all who knew him. He lived a life of silent service, generously blessing the lives of family, friends, and many others. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was a humble, dedicated servant. Lars Charles Larsen, 85, passed away May 6, 2015, at home surrounded by family.
Survived By: His wife of 65 years, Vera; his children: Linda Lee (Jim) Brinton, Robert Charles (Jana), Lars Christian (Kelly) and Eric Welker (Rebecca).
Predeceased By: His son, Bradley; his parents; and at least two siblings.
