Deceased Name: Carolyn Larsen Barnes

- Carolyn Larsen Barnes, our beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, returned quietly home to our Heavenly Father Feb. 22, 2002.

Born June 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City where she attended school until the age of 12 when she moved to Mendon, UT. She was a graduate of South Cache High and LDS Business School.

She worked for JC Penny, Blodgett Data Entry, and ACS.

Married Dec 5, 1974, to Kent J. Barnes in Salt Lake City, where she raised three sons and was referred to as "Mama Barnes" by her children's friends. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions in her home ward including counselor in the Relief Society and Young Women's, Den Leader, and as a Visiting Teacher. She also served as PTA President of Woodstock Elementary School for two years and worked in other aspects at the elementary and high school level.

Carolyn wanted all to know that her family has been her greatest joy. No one ever heard Carolyn utter a complaint in her battle with a long-term illness. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for everyone. We will never know how many lives she has touched; but we know that we are all better people for knowing her.

Her parents, LaVern and Linzy Larsen, preceded Carolyn in death. She is survived by her husband, Kent; three sons, Christopher, Ryan, Geoffrey; and beloved daughter-in-law, Lindsay; sister, Colleen (Larry) Norman; brothers, Stan (Jackie) Larsen, Jack (DeAnn) Larsen, Kent (Pam) Larsen; as well as countless friends and loved ones.

Carolyn and her family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute, especially Dr. Sandra Buys and her staff in the South Patient Care Clinic, Shelly Frohm and the Infusion Team, and Michelle Dabrowski, for the special love, care, and support they gave to Carolyn and her family.

Services will be Tues. Feb 26, 2002, 11 a.m., Little Cottonwood 9th Ward chapel, 1160 E. Vine St (6080 S). A viewing will be Mon. Feb 25, 6-8 p.m. Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S, and Tues. at the church 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
