Gladys Glover, 97 of Carrollton, died Wednesday, Jan 19, 2000 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born Feb 4, 1902, in Ray County, the daughter of Mylus Buchanan and Lucinda Elizabeth O'Dell Leakey. On Dec. 25, 1936, she married James B. Glover. He died May 25, 1991. Mrs. Glover attended Burr Oak School. She helped new mothers care for their new babies and worked at the Benson and Scovern hospitals. The Glovers lived on a farm that had been in the family for 150 years, where Mrs. Glover helped in the fields and helped raise cattle and sheep. She was baptized in the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church near Stet. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Funeral services were held at 1:30pm, Sunday, Jan 23, 2000 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Carroll County chapter of the American Cancer Society, which may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Arrangements were under the direction of the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
