Maurine Leakey Fisher, 86, Ogden, died Sunday evening in Henry County Memorial Hospital, New Castle.
She was a native of Kennard and was the widow of Loring H. Fisher, who died in 1958. She was a retired Methodist minister of the North Indiana Conference. She was a graduate of Kennard High School, Muncie Normal Institute (Ball State University) and the Chicago Training School (Garrett Theological Seminary).
After completing seminary, she worked at the New Castle First United Methodist Church as a pastor's assistant, parish visitor and church secretary. She also taught school for six years. She served as pastor of the Ogden United Methodist Church from 1942-63. During that time she also served as pastor for the Greensboro United Methodist Church for eight years.
The only survivors are nieces and nephews. Four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
