He is the son of Mrs. J.C. Lee of Volga, South Dakota, and the husband of Mrs. Estelle {Alloy} Lee of Peoria, Illinois, and she is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. S.E. Alloy of 224 North Glenwood in Peoria, and they were married in Galesburg, Illinois in 1940.
He graduated from Volga H.S. in 1920, and is a 1924 graduate of South Dakota State at Brookings, South Dakota, and was employed as an Engineer by the Illinois State Highway Division in 1924, and remained there until he enlisted in the Navy in July of 1942.
He does leave one brother, Major R.C. Lee of the Army Air Corps, and one sister, Mrs. Curtis Lundy of Boston, Massachusetts.
He is a Veteran of the Army during WWI when he was still in school, and returned to his schooling after the war.
