Funeral services for Shirley Jean Anding will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014, in the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 13408 Hwy 10, Pitkin, LA 70656, with the Reverend Larry White officiating. Committal service will follow in the Blue Branch Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Shirley, 74, of Pitkin, went to meet Jesus on Friday, June 6, 2014 while resting at home in her favorite chair. She was born on April 3, 1940 to the union of Mitchell and Mable Duplechain LeJeune. She was a Catholic by faith and homemaker. She loved playing bingo with her friends and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerald Anding; and brother, Herbert M. LeJeune.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 55 years, Ray Anding of Pitkin; three daughters, Polly Gaskin (Scotty) of Pitkin, Tracy Ware (Chris) of Pitkin, and Tarah Odom (Chris) of Fairview; one brother, Russell J. LeJeune of Vinton; three sisters, Ruth Schmidt of Iowa, Juanita Watkin of Oberlin, and Linda Nolen of Pitkin; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will begin Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 2 p.m. until service time on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the church.
