Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde for Bonnie Bordelon, age 78, the former Bonnie Lejeune, who passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her residence in Lawtell.
Interment will be in St. Catherine Catholic Church in Lawtell. The Rev. Austin Leger will officiate at the services.
Ms. Bordelon was a native of Prairie Ronde and lived most of her life in Opelousas. She was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister whose life was devoted to her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Bordelon of Lawtell; five grandchildren, Nick Jeffers, Brandon Jeffers, Chasity Jeffers, Jacob Jeffers and Larry Hines; four great grandchildren, Marlee Jeffers, Aniah Robinson, Aidan Robinson and Arian Robinson; two sisters, Dorabell Lejeune and Loretta Ortego, both of Opelousas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lejeune and the former Amenthe Savoy; her husband, Roy J. Bordelon; two sons, Darrell Bordelon and Larry Bordelon; one daughter, Brenda Jeffers; one granddaughter, Casey Davidson; one granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Jeffers; one brother, Norris Lejeune; and four sisters, Martha Lejeune, Mary Jagneaux, Belva Mouton and Lisa Majors.
