Mary E. Blazejewski of 309 Elm St. passed away on Friday (March 23, 2013) in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, following a short illness.
Mrs. Blazejewski was born on March 10, 1915, in Mt. Jewett, Pa. and was a daughter of Luigi and Maria Rosa Olivia Leone. On June 1, 1940, in St. John's Church, she married John J. Blazejewski, who predeceased her on Feb. 6, 1990.
Mrs. Blazejewski worked for Thatcher Glass Plant for 10 years, Daystrom Furniture for about 20 years and then HiQ for about 11 years, retiring in 1980. She was a longtime member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church and their Altar Society.
Surviving are a brother, Angelo Baglione of Olean; a sister-in-law, Florence Dunlap of Wallingford; and several niews and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband, John, Mrs. Blazejewski is predeceased by her parents and a stepfather, Bernard Baglione; five brothers, infant Bernard Baglione Jr., Pascal Leone, Joseph Leone and Frank and John Baglione; three sisters, Miss Louise Leone, Katherine Kloc and Mariea Baglione.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Monday (March 25, 2013), at 1 p.m. in St. John's Church. The Rev. Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Church, 931 N. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 646 E. State St, Olean.
