Died, Tuesday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Coon, North Fourth, Mrs. Eliza Lewis, aged 85 years.

Married Levi D. Lewis in Morristown, N. J. on Aug. 13, 1923. They had six children, one of whom died at aged five years. They moved to Springfield, Ill, in Nov. 1835, where they had one child. Children were: William C. B., Sarah (m. Reuben Coon), Mary E. (married Thomas Palladay), James S., John Bergen.
Her husband Levi was connected with his brothers, Joseph and Thomas, in the boot and shoe business for several years. In 1849 he went to California, and died there Feb. 24, 1850. Mrs. Eliza Lewis resided with her daughter, Mrs. Coon, in Springfield. (From Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Ill, 1876)
