Patricia A. Hoagland, 84, of Frisco, TX and formerly of Springfield, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at her residence.
She was born July 14, 1928 in New Berlin, IL, the daughter of Loren E. Laura L. Breeding Lewis. She married Raymond Lucia Jr. on February 13, 1954. He preceded her in death. She later married her Everett L. "Vern" Hoagland on August 2, 1969 in Springfield. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rayette Lucia; her parents; a brother, Edward D. "Ted" Lewis; and a sister-in-law Marlene Lewis.
She is survived by three daughters, Patti Lucia Sells of Frisco TX, Laura Lu White of Taylorville IL, Shelley Lucia Goins of Springfield; four grandchildren, Melvin G. White III of Taylorville, Derek V. White (Partner-Megan Westrick) of Taylorville, Alexander J. Goins of Springfield, and Taylor L. Sells of Frisco TX; and three nieces, Kim D. Lewis of Springfield, J. Sue Lewis of Reidsville, NC, and Pamela A. Lewis Turpin (Husband-Parker Turpin) of Reidsville, NC.
Patricia was a graduate of New Berlin High School. She was a resident of Springfield for over 48 years till she moved to Frisco Texas 12 years ago. She worked for the Illinois State Board of Education for 30 years.
Her memberships include: Parents Without Partners (PWP) Past President, Sweet Adelines Past President, and North Dallas Women's Club.
Mrs. Hoagland enjoyed traveling, singing, gardening and most of all her kids and grandkids.
Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
