BRISTOL, RI--Rose Lima Camara, 99, of 150 Power Street, Portsmouth, died in her 100th year on Friday, May 25, 2007 at St. Elizabeth's Manor, Bristol, RI.

She was the wife of the late William P. Camara.

Born in Portsmouth, RI on June 18, 1907, the daughter of the late Manuel C. Lima and Philomena Correira Lima.

Mrs. Camara was a lifetime member of St. Anthony's Church, a member of the Catholic Women's Club, the Portsmouth Senior Center and the 7 Castle Club where she was Mother of the Year in 1956. Rose was an avid reader, gardener, crocheter of afghans, cook and baker of Portuguese sweet bread. Her favorite time was spent with her family and those who had the privilege of knowing her will forever miss her.

She was also preceded in death by her children, Theresa Peyton, Daniel Camara, Lucille Behan Perry, Alfred W. Camara and Thomas J. Camara; her siblings, Manuel Lima, John J. Lima, Joseph W. Lima, Anthony G. Lima, Henry G. Lima, Mary Coelho, Bella Moitoza, Irene Virdinlia, Fannie Pavao and Josephine Brown; and grandchildren, Daniel Camara, Francis Szczepaniak and William Camara III.

She is survived by her children, William P. Camara Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, George Camara of Dayton Beach, FL, Joseph R. Camara of Portsmouth, RI, Stephen G. Camara and Lawrence P. Camara both of Pompano Beach, FL, Rosemary Szczepaniak and Evelyn Correia of Portsmouth, RI, Fannie Topazio of Bristol, RI and Eleanor Borges of Portsmouth, RI; forty-two grandchildren; sixty-three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the Connors Funeral Home, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 4-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
