July 6, 1920 – Jan. 25, 2013

Former Bandon resident Ruth E. (Lin) Lepicier died peacefully in her sleep Jan. 25, 2013, at her residence in Baycrest Village in North Bend. Lin was looking forward to going home to be with her Lord and savior and her beloved husband, Ralph, who preceded her in death in 2005.

Lin was born Ruth Elizabeth Sutherlin July 6, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Elwood and Ruth Sutherlin. She graduated in 1942 from Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.

Although Lin held several jobs in her life such as, dean of students for Franklin Pierce College, dean of the MacDuffie School for Girls, dean of Graham-Eckes School for Boys, and director of the Armament Department with GE Corp, though none were more fulfilling than her career at Lepicier P as a professional singer. She has performed all over the country. Lin has served as choir director for several churches in the area and used her gift to bless congregations throughout Coos County.

In addition, Lin was an active member of Bandon By the Sea Kiwanis and the First Presbyterian Church in Bandon where she served as a deaconess before moving to Baycrest Village.

Lin is survived by her son, Timothy Smith and his wife, Nanette from Hinesburg, Vt.; and by her niece, Laura Nine and her husband and daughter, Ben and Hannah Nine from Hickory, N.C.

Along with her husband Ralph, Lin will be interned in the family plot of Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Madison Township, N.C., where family services will be held.

In lieu of local services and flowers, one may make a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church, 592 Edison Ave., S.W., in Bandon or to a charity of one's choice in memory and honor of Lin.

She will be missed.

Arrangements are under the direction of Amling & Schroeder Funeral Services, Bandon, 541-347-2907.
