Kaunghua Isabel Lin Lian Arriola, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Gabriel Cardiel officiating. Burial will be in Chapel of Chimes in Hayward, Calif. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Isabel was born July 6, 1922, in Wei Hai Wei City, Shandong Province, China, to Mr. and Mrs. Wen-Chi Lin. She married I-Ping Lian in Beijing in 1946, and her second marriage was to David Arriola of Newark, Calif., in 1993.

Isabel graduated from the Yen-Tai Girls High School in Shandong Province, China, and worked as a teacher and a clerk in a news press service in Shanghai, and later was an owner of Kaunghua Clothing Store and Far East Restaurant in Taiwan, and Peking and Shanghai Restaurants in Lubbock before her retirement in Newark. She was a kind and generous person who will be missed greatly by her families and friends.

She was preceded in death by husbands I-Ping Lian and David Arriola; and a daughter-in-law, Ning-Hsin Lian.

Survivors include five sons, Mingwei George Lian and wife Yuping Che Mary Lian of Amarillo, Ming-Gon John Lian of Illinois, David Joe Arriola, Daniel Arriola, and Donald Arriola, all of California; five grandchildren, Kuohui Lian and husband Jim Suchecki, Kuo-Chiang Lian and wife Melissa Lian, Kuopao Lian and wife Pavilina Ilieva, Kuo-Hsin Lian and Kuoting Lian; a great-grandchild, Michael Kyle Suchecki; a sister, Chi-le Lin Suenand; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Arriola family.
