Charlotte Virginia Lewis of Lincoln, Virginia departed this life peacefully on January 18, 2015.

Charlotte was born on September 27, 1942, to the late Sherman Lincoln and the late Lottie Virginia Lincoln, in Round Hill, Virginia. She is proceeded in death by four brothers and one sister. Charlotte attended schools in Loudoun County.

She was married to the love of her life, Joseph Leon Lewis Sr. for over 35 years before he preceded her in death. They shared many cherished memories. Their life together produced four beautiful children; Cindy L. Lewis, Joseph L. Lewis, Jr., Angela M. Lewis, and Maria R. Lloyd.

Charlotte attended Shenandoah University as a young adult and obtained her LPN License. She worked at various Nursing Facilities and later as a Private Duty Nurse. Charlotte has held many other occupations during her lifetime, and they all revolved around serving the community. She worked for the Red Cross providing assistance to the elderly in rural Western Loudoun County. She was also a Substitute Teacher for Loudoun County Public Schools. She was a Director for The Good Shepherd Alliance, managing several of their Homeless Shelters. She was presently a school bus driver for Loudoun County Public Schools until she became ill. Charlotte loved being around people, both young and old.

Charlotte began her life with Christ at an early age. She attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Round Hill, Virginia as a youth and brought her children up there as well. She later began attending the King of Kings Worship Center in Purcellville, Virginia were she was a devoted member. Charlotte loved life and all that it brings. She enjoyed fishing, attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, hanging with her friends, family and especially her morning coffee with her extended family at the local McDonalds.

She leaves to mourn, one sister, Gale F. Burgess (Ron) of Greensboro, North Carolina; three daughters, Cindy L. Lewis of Lincoln, Virginia; Angela M. Lewis of Germantown, Maryland; and Maria R. Lloyd (Brian) of Middleburg, Virginia; and one son, Joseph L. Lewis, Jr. (Fran) of Leesburg, Virginia. She also leaves to mourn, five granddaughters; Keiara Lewis, Bria Lloyd, Rayna Lloyd, Nya Lloyd and step-granddaughter Gabrielle Whiting. She leaves two grandsons, Joseph Lewis, III (Tres) and John Lewis. She also leaves two sister-in-laws, Darlene Williams (Leroy) of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Patricia Summers (John) of Middleburg, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Douglas Lewis (Lillie) of Round Hill, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
