Augusta was born to Christine Nilsdotter and Johan Nordlund at Trono, Helsinglan, Sweden on January 6, 1876. Her father Johan died c1878.

Christine, Augusta's mother, then married Lars Lenberg c1881. Augusta's half-siblings included; Peter A., Anna, Emma Christine, Lars Jr., Lillian Sally, and Amanda Lenberg. All were born in Sweden.

Augusta was confirmed in the church at Trono, Sweden on April 6, 1890.

Augusta emigrated from Sweden to the US in 1894 and settled in Bishop Hill, Illinois. She first lived with her uncle, Hans Rosen. The rest of her family emigrated later, two in 1900 and the others in 1901.

Augusta B. Johansdotter married John Andrew Anderson at Andover, Henry County, Illinois on January 28, 1896. They resided at Evergreen Hill farm, Weller Township, Henry County, Illinois. To this union three children were born; Pearl Lillian, Marvelyn Juanita, and Julian Warren Anderson. Another son, Dennis was still born September 1918 and was buried In the Bishop Hill Cemetery. A step-daughter, Julia Florence Anderson, was also raised in this family from an infant after her mother - Bertha Olson Anderson - John's first wife, died shortly after childbirth.

John and Augusta farmed and lived all their married life in the Bishop Hill area.

Mrs. Augusta (Lenberg) Anderson, at age 56 years, died on February 21, 1932 in the Kewanee Public Hospital following a week's illness of pneumonia. Surviving are the widower; John A. Anderson; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Hutchinson, Mrs. Gale (Marvelyn) Hutchinson, and a son Julian Hutchinson; a step-daughter Mrs. Julia Lindbom, a half-brother Peter Lenberg, four half-sister, Mrs. Alfred Anderson, Mrs. Eric Miner, Mrs. Ray Kapple, and Mrs. Amanda Nelson. Her step-father Nels (Lars) Lenberg also survives, plus ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Bishop Hill Community Methodist Church, Bishop Hill, Illinois.
