MRS. SALMA C. ABRAHAM
Mrs. Salma C. Abraham was born October 13, 1873 in Page County. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethesda Lutheran Church.
On May 20, 1896, she was married to Claus Abraham. Their home was blessed with two children, a daughter, LeRose Marie, who died in infancy and a son, Reuel. The years of her life which were almost 80 in number were spent in the Essays Community. She departed from this earthly life on August 10, 1953 at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 27 days.
Besides her husband and son who mourn her departure, there are two grandchildren DeLoye Abraham and Mrs. Alvin Hayes and five great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Lindburg, and a host of relatives and friends.
Together with her husband, she had been a member of the Mission Covenant Church of Essex for more than 43 years. She was also a charter member of the Ladies Aid of the church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, August 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Essex Mission Covenant Church, Rev. Clarence F. Anderson was in charge.
Music was furnished by a duet, Mrs. Charles Lang and Mrs. Forest Benedict. Organist was Mrs. Rober Young. flowers were cared fro by Mrs. Glenn Carlson and Mrs. Pearl Woodin.
Bearers were Mauritz Ivarson, Church Maddox, John Chandler, Glenn Carlson, Pearl Woodin, and Virgil Udd. Burial was in the Essex Cemetery.
Carson-Hackett Mortuary in Essex had charge of the funeral arrangements.
