Mrs. Josephine C. Carberry, 87, of Willow Knoll Retirement Community, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003. She formerly lived in the Red Lion Area for 57 years.

She was born in Stillwater, Ky., on Dec. 24, 1915, to James Linkous and Cassandra (Center) Linkous. On Aug. 6, 1938, Josephine was united in marriage with Edward Carberry in Campton, Ky. She was a homemaker and a member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God.

Mrs. Carberry was preceded in death by her parents; her six brothers, Floyd, Walton, Rex, William, James and Nicholas; eight sisters, Daisy, Dora, Nora, Ella, Anna Rebecca, India and Viola; a grandson, Shane; and a great-grandson, Richard.

Jospehine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward "Pete"; four children, James (Vivien) of Hunter, Ohio, Mary (David) Lansaw of Monroe, Ohio, Carole (Scott) Mcpherson of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Timothy of Middletown, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The entire family wants to thank Willow Knoll for their loving care these past 100 months. We love you, Booker, Donna, and the all too many to name who have cared for Mom these last eight years.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave., Middletown. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Towne Boulevard Church of God, 3722 Towne Blvd., Franklin, Ohio, with the Rev. Frank Curtis officiating. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial in Trenton.

Contributions may be made to the Towne Boulevard Church of God, 3722 Towne Blvd., Franklin, Ohio 45005 in memory of Josephine Carberry.
