Barbara Ann Linkous Barnett, 78, of Blacksburg, Va., passed away peacefully at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital Monday, January 9, 2012.

Barbara was born August 17, 1933. Daughter of the late Robert M. and Leathie Linkous, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter William (Buddy) Barnett; and brothers, Troy (Deanie) Linkous and Ribble Linkous.

Barbara was a devoted member of the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved canning fruits and vegetables, crocheting and visiting family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son, William Dale Barnett and wife, Debbie Shelhamer Barnett, of Richmond; brothers, sister and spouses, the Rev. Herbert and Betty Linkous, Mitchell and Lois Linkous, Nadine and the Rev. Phillip Martin; sisters-in-law, Nancy Linkous, Mary Linkous, Betty Ruth Snider and Margaret Smith; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012, from the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Sloss, with interment at 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg
