Mrs. Catharine Banta, widow of Capt. Banta, died at her home in this city Wednesday night. She has been troubled with heart disease and a short time ago was not expected to live, but for the past few weeks has been much better. Hence her death was sudden and unexpected. She was quite old and a very highly respected lady. She had a large circle of relatives and friends in this county.

The will of the late Catherine Banta was admitted to probate on Wednesday. The home place is willed to her daughter, Mrs. Captain Ellis, and the store building lately occupied by Perry’s drug store, to her son Peter J. Banta.
