Nancy E. Ackeret, 64, Topeka, formerly of Soldier, died May 12, 2009, at a Topeka hospice. She was born July 17, 1944, in Blue Rapids, the daughter of Andrew and Viola Schokey Lister. Mrs. Ackeret retired from Goodyear in 1996. She was a member of United Rubber Workers Local 307. She married Bruce Edward Ackeret on April 15, 1975, in Hiawatha. He died Sept. 21, 1990. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Barnum and Irene Stille.
Survivors include a son, Shawn Ackeret, Topeka. Mrs. Ackeret was cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Bucks Grove Cemetery south of Havensville. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
