Henry "Lee" Long of Lizella died Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Funeral services were held at 2P.M., Friday, August 14, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Macon, GA, with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Franklin Etheridge and Reverend Tim Long officiated. The family greeted friends at 1:00 P.M., one hour prior to the services at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Long, the son of the late James Henry and Inez Hunnicutt Long, was born October 4, 1920 in Thomasville, Georgia. He was a retired paint contractor. Mr. Long was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a lifelong foxhunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Long of Lizella; daughter, Brenda Mitchell of Lizella; brothers, James T. Long of Lizella and Ray E. Long of Lizella; sisters, Ontee Ward of Lizella, Bobbie Pupo of Lizella, Mildred L. Windham of Lizella, Myrtle Coley of California and Margie Merriam of California; grandchildren, James Robert Mitchell, Jr. of Lizella, Bryan (Jennifer) Mitchell of Macon; great grandchildren, Ellison Mitchell and Emersyn Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Macon, GA 31216. Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth, Georgia had charge of arrangements.
