Mr. Long was born in Peach County and was a member of First Baptist Church, Vidalia, retired from Piggy Wiggy Southern after thirty eight years as a Vice-President of Stores Planning and Development. Mr. Long was a veteran of the U. S. Army, Mason, Shriner, a charter member of Riverside Gold and Country Club, and a 1943 graduate of Lanier High School.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. Long of Macon; children, Sharon "Mack" McElmurray of Macon, Janice Dunford of Vidalia, James F. "Lori" Long, Jr. of Macon; grandchildren, Pastor Michael "Mystee" Blankenship of Lizella, Kelly Dunford of Vidalia, Layla Wilson of Vidalia, James F. (Trey) Long, III of Macon; great-grandchildren, Melodee and Michael Blankenship, both of Lizella, Mia Wilson of Vidalia; sister, Juanita Thames of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
