KINGSLEY, IA - Mrs. Ray Bollin, age 78, of Kingsley, died June 27 at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City after suffering a stroke last week.
Services will be at 10:00 am June 30 in the United Methodist Church of Kingsley. The Rev. Gordon Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery at Quimby with the Dickinson-Michaelson Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Bollin, the former Opal Birdie Longwell, was born Nov. 23, 1896, the daughter of Lewis Leon & Emma Pieta (Jones) Longwell, in Kingsley. She grew up in the Kingsley and Quimby communities. She married E. Raymond Bollin March 12, 1915 in Quimby. Mr. & Mrs. Bollin farmed in the Quimby area and moved to Kingsley in 1937. Mr. Bollin died in 1950. She was a member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 4 sons, Douglas W. of Kingsley, A. Franklin of Anthon, Gary D. of Sullivan, IN, and Jimmy J of Tucson, AZ. 3 daughters, Mrs. Harley (Maxine) Fellom of Sullivan, IN, Mrs LaVon Shapley of Tucson, AZ, and Mrs. Joseph (Kereen) Schnee of Sioux City, IA. 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sons, Wayne E. and Neil R., and 1 sister, Mabel who had resided near Billings MT.
