Bernie (Gram Bernie) was born May 31, 1922 in Crows Landing, California. Bernie spent her childhood years on a ranch in Newman, California. Life on the ranch meant feeding the goats, hay wagon rides and being pulled with her brother John in a little wagon by their big St. Bernard dog. These were fun days for the first six years of her life. Elementary and High School were spent Gustine where in 4th grade she received the most Valentines! She was a cheerleader in high school and graduated along with 8 other students.

While in high school Bernie worked at her mother’s restaurant and soda fountain in Gustine, CA, where she met George Adams from Logan Utah. George went back to Utah but returned to the restaurant with a “very handsome young man.” This young man was Ernest Izatt Adams. Ernie and Bernie were married May 2, 1943 just before Ernie was shipped off to WWII in Europe.

Ernie and his family introduced Bernie to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was baptized in June of 1947. From that time on, Bernie served faithfully in many callings, including, serving as a temple worker in the Oakland Temple, Jordan River Temple and the Draper Temple for over 30 years. She also served a mission in California in the Loatian Branch.

Ernie and Bernie raised their five children in Northern California. Bernie was a stay home mom while raising her children. After the children were in school Bernie worked as the Head Secretary at Meadow Homes Elementary for over 30 years where she touched many children’s lives.

Bernie is survived by her five children, Stephen (Bashawn), Shelly Bradburn (Rick), Scott (Becki), Sandi Scott, Stuart (Denise). Gram Bernie has 23 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren either here or in route!

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Falcon Hill Ward, 2130 East 10000 South, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah and 1 hour prior to the services, at the church. Interment, Memory Gardens, Concord, CA.
