Hilda "Da Dun" Blanche Lorraine Lafont

Hilda "Da Dun" Blanche Lorraine Lafont, 88, a native of Cut Off, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Sunday, Oct. 4.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Lafont Cheramie and husband Clarence; one brother, Joseph Lorraine Jr.; four grandchildren, Charles Sandras and wife Wanda, Dennis Sandras, Stefanie Sandras and Sabrina Sandras Savoie and husband Reggie; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irven J. Lafont; parents, Joseph Lorraine Sr. and Grace Pitre Lorraine; two brothers, Frankie Lorraine and Lindberg Lorraine; and one sister, Edith Orgeron.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off and loved visiting friends.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
