Mrs. Orene Elvina Lorraine Cartier, died on Monday, February 11 at the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 20 days. She had been fighting cancer for the last 3-4 years but had been able to be up and around most of the time until last week or so when her body failed quite rapidly. She died fairly suddenly and peacefully.
She was born Sept 21, 1914 near Wyoming, MN to Mr. and Mrs. August Grant. She was baptized in Forest Lake and grew up on the family farm near Wyoming and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Stacy.
She met William Cartier in 1933. They were married Sept 21, 1935. The couple moved around the United States for quite a while because of Mr. Cartier's work and then came back near here and settled on a farm by Lake Comfort. While there she joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wyoming. They moved to Lindstrom in 1950 and have lived here ever since, joining Trinity Lutheran Church in 1961. They have 1 child, Wayne, who lives in Lindstrom with his wife Nancy.
Mrs. Cartier is preceded in death by her parents and by two sisters who died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, William, her son Wayne and one sister Muriel, Mrs. Ravalli LaBatte of Robbinsdale, MN. Her body was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
