Marvel E. Lowry, 82, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2012.

She was born August 5, 1929 to Homer and Dora Harris Williamson and graduated from Kenmore High School in 1947. Marvel retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber as a secretary in 1985 with over 30 years of service. A dedicated walker for over 25 years, she especially enjoyed walking at Lake Anna and feeding peanuts to the birds and squirrels. She was a faithful attendee at The Chapel at Fir Hill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Flesher; children, Cindy Flesher and Richard Lowry, Jr.; brother, Bill Williamson. She is survived by loving husband, Richard Lowry; loving children, Connie Whitmer, Carolyn (Ray) Vierheller and Jim (Cindy) Lowry; beloved grandchildren, Chad (Teresa) Whitmer and Lindsay (Dennis Shin) Whitmer; sister, Lois Parker; brothers, Larry Williamson and David (Patsy) Williamson; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave. in Barberton, Pastor Larry Shaw officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Marvel was an avid animal lover and if so desired, memorials may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087 or www.summithumane.org.
