Graveside services for Alfred Loyall of El Reno were held Friday, May 24, 2013, in the pavilion located at the El Reno Cemetery with Rev. Paul Roach officiating. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Alfred Lewis Loyall went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born in El Reno to Cealy (Alger) and Roy Loyall on July 16, 1934. He entered this world with his best friend and twin brother, Melfred Loyall. He spent much of his youth on the Alger farm in Union City. This is where the Loyall boys learned about working hard and providing for their families.

Alfred met the love of his life, Nadine McCracken, and made her his wife on Feb. 12, 1954. To this union, they added six children. Alfred worked many jobs to support his family and to allow Nadine to stay home with the children. She was the primary disciplinarian and he was the primary giver of hugs. Their Daddy was very special to each of the children.

Alfred retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after dedicating almost 40 years of service to the company. Many people in the El Reno area recall his days with the gas company. He also did drywall construction jobs after he would get off work at ONG, as well as the weekends. His ability as a craftsman and handyman allowed him to help his children construct, remodel or repair their own homes.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lucy, Elmer and Melfred; infant daughter, Lillian Dian; and grandson, Travis Spence.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nadine of the home; his daughters, Brenda Spence and husband, Eugene of Minco, Tina Land and husband, Dennis of El Reno and Kim Haydon and husband, Mike of Okarche; his sons, Clay Loyall and wife, Becky of Calumet and Chip (Alfred Jr.) Loyall of El Reno.

Alfred enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything in the world. He loved his wife with all his heart, and took every opportunity he could to tell her he loved her, as well as push her buttons with his orneriness. In his younger years, he loved to go fishing, bowling and tinker with all kinds of hobbies in his beloved garage.

He was cherished by his grandchildren and each of them will miss him tremendously. His grandchildren include Linnea Edwards and husband, Ross of Durant, Leslie Kozak and husband, Rob, Tamara Loyall and Lori Land, all of El Reno, Eric Loyall, Ashley Pond and husband, Derrick, and Austin Haydon of Calumet, Sean Loyall and wife, Katie of Calumet, and Christopher Loyall of Cogar. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Mae Welliver; and sister-in-law, Wanda Loyall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Good Shepherd Hospice of Oklahoma City.
