Alice Loyall McCaw , 91, died Nov. 11, 1997, in her home.

Mrs. McCaw was born in Norfolk. She was the widow of James Brown McCaw Jr. She was a member of Christ and St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Norfolk.

Mrs. McCaw was an honorary lifetime member of both Virginia Beach SPCA and the Princess Anne-Virginia Beach Historical Society. She was a member of the Colonial Dames of America.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne McCaw Smith of Virginia Beach; her son, James B. McCaw III of Fla.; four grandchildren, Ramsay Smith Skenes, Alice Smith Jenkins, John Thompson Loyall Smith and Martha Lindsay McCaw ; three great-grandchildren, Robert D. Skenes, Anne Loyall Skenes and Lee S. Jenkins.

A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Christ and St. Lukes Episcopal Church by the Rev. James Sell. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
