Gilford-----Doris L. Barnard, 90, of 40 Silver Street and formerly of Fenton Avenue, died at the St. Francis Healthcare Center on Tuesday, December 20, 2005. She was the widow of Robert C. Barnard who died in 1969.
Mrs. Barnard was born June 19, 1915 in Franklin, NH, the daughter of Leon and Minnie (Stewart) Ludlow. She lived most of her life in Laconia before moving to Gilford a few months ago. She was employed at Cormier Hosiery for many years.
Mrs. Barnard was a member of the Endicott Rock Temple #25 Pythian Sisters since 1939 and served as treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #l Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Barnard’s family was so much a part of her life and “Nana” will be greatly missed. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, her warm heart and her love of social settings.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Peter Pinckney, of Gilford; three grandchildren, Peter Pinckney, Jr. and his fiancée, Jen Isham, of Gilmanton; Cheryl O’Hara and her husband, Alan, of Laconia and Michael Pinckney of Gilford; two great grandchildren, Casey and Corey O’Hara; a sister, Gladys Burbank, of Laconia and a niece, Brenda Moulton, of Laconia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, her twin, Delma I. Moulton, in 2003 and Eunice R. Hurd in 1997.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005 from 5:30-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 7:00PM also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Marilyn Ayer, Pastor of the Weirs United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
