Services for Theresa Ludlow Benedict, 86, former Indianaoplis resident who died at Muncie last night, will be held at the Meeks Funeral Home, Muncie. Mrs. Benedict was the widow of John Lee Benedict who died in 1940. He was a member of the Indianaolis law firm of Benedict & Benedict, established in 1890. She and her husband moved to Muncie in 1936 to live with their daughter, Mrs. Claude E. Palmer.

Born at Ludlow, Illinois, descendant of the founders of Cincinnati, Ohio and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Benedict was an 1889 graduate of Northwestern University. She came to Indianapolis immediately after her marriage in 1890. Here she was active in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter, DAR. Besides the daughter, a son, Dr. Paul L. Benedict, Rochelee, Illinois, and five grandchildren, survive. Another son, Howard Benedict, died in 1923.
