Mrs. Edith K. Collins
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walnut Street Baptist Church for Mrs. Edith K. Collins, 83, of 337 Argyle St., who died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
The Rev. G.A. Woolsey will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery. The body will be taken to the church from Locke funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Collins was born Apr. 29, 1870, at Plainfield, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Lynes. She was married Oct. 7, 1890, to Ira D. Collins in Plainfield.
They moved to Waterloo in 1903 and had made their home here since. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and a sister.

Edith Katherine "Kate" Lynes was the daughter of William Wallace Lynes (1842-1905) & Ellen Ella Hutchins (1845-1872).
She grew up & went to school in Bremer Co, Iowa, & was married in Plainfield on 7 Oct 1890 to Ira Day Collins (1866-1924).
After her husband died in 1924, Kate almost always had lodgers in her home.
Children of Kate & Ira include:

~ Clifford LeRoy Collins (1902-1987)
