Death at 7 a.m. Wed. in Reedsville, quite unexpectedly, of Christ Mahnke of Manitowoc. Mr. Mahnke fell ill with pneumonia in Feb. but had recovered to the point where the doctor gave him permission to visit his brother in Reedsville. There he suffered a relapse and death overtook him. Christ Mahnke was born 03 Sep. 1855 in Kittendorf, Mecklenburg-Schwerin. He came to America with his parents in 1865 and settled in Manitowoc where he has lived ever since. Since 1897 he had a retail store on Washington St. His widow, 6 daughters and 2 sons mourn his death. The funeral will be held Friday.
