Henry Mahnke, 56, pipefitter and former Manitowoc resident, died Thursday
afternoon of a heart attack at his home, 43 West Ave., Riverside, Ill.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
The native of Manitowoc was born June 7, 1902, son of the late Henry and Minnie
Pingel Mahnke. He had been employed as a pipefitter by G. H. Kallies Co. of
Manitowoc until 1950, when he went to Madison to follow the trade. He married
Florence Allin there Sept. 8, 1950, and the couple moved to Riverside.
A graduate of Lutheran Grade School and Washington High School at Manitowoc, he
was a member of a Chicago pipefitters union.
Surviving are his wife, a stepson, Dr. Thomas Allin, of Park Ridge, Ill., a
step-daughter, Phyllis, of Delavan, Wis., two brothers, Arthur, of Manitowoc
and Walter, of Buffalo, N.Y. and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Gerpheide, of Pasadena,
Calif.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday.
