Miss Evelyn D. Michels, 65, of 316 Riverview Drive, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, July 17, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parkside Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by the Rev. John Neuser, the Rev. John Pawelski and Deacon William Klein and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Miss Michels was born Nov. 7, 1917, at Marshfield, Wis., daughter of the late Matthew P. and Emma Regele Michels. She was graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1935. Miss Michels was employed for 42 years in the administrative office of the board of education and served to the secretary to the superintendent of schools and the board of education before retiring Feb. 1, 1960. After retirement, she worked part time at Lube Devices Inc., and Manitowoc Municipal Employees Credit Union. She was a past regent and member of the Daughters of Isabella, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the church, and was also an usher.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lt. Col. Eugene and Barbara Jean Michels of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Robert J. and Lorraine Michels of Manitowoc, seven nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. led by Father John Pawelski. A Daughters of Isabella service Will (sic) immediately follow the prayer service.
