He was a WWII Veteran and Captain MI, USAR. He attended Union College receiving a B.S. in Geology, and Penn State University where he received his Masters in Geology. George worked as a Petroleum Geologist for Chevron Oil Company. He retired to pursue his career as Chief of Exploration for Westland Oil Development Corporation.
George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Anders Macaulay, two children, daughter, Ann Saunders Macaulay Thomas and husband Bruce, and their children, Betty Macaulay Thomas, and Tori Saunders Thomas, son, Bruce Anders Macaulay and wife Cindy, and their children, Erik Anders Macaulay, Chris Whitby and wife Alicia, and step great-granddaughter, Bella, sister, Georgia Kelley, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog, Molly.
