Doris E. (Vyn) Magennis passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at age 87. She will be deeply missed by her five children: Dr. Susan Sporte and the Rev. Bennie Whiten of Chicago, IL; Steven and Janet Magennis of Holland; Dr. Ann Magennis of Fort Collins, CO; Daniel and Deborah Magennis of Grand Rapids; and Joan and Robert Savage of Rockford. She leaves five grandchildren: Scott Sporte and Kristine Carl, Collin and Elizabeth Magennis, Elizabeth Sporte and Matthew Ehn, Kristin Magennis, and Alexander Savage. She also has six great-grandchildren: Erin and Kyle Magennis, Grayson and Rowan Ehn, and Charles and Carys Sporte. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Robert Magennis, and five nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Charles B. Magennis, and her sisters, Lois Skidmore and Barbara Vyn.

Friends may meet the family on Tuesday, March 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, Van Strien-Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield NE, Grand Rapids, MI. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at North Park Presbyterian Church, 500 North Park NE in Grand Rapids. Family interment services will be held at Fairplains Cemetery.
