Bergen: Mrs. Margaret M. Foster, 82, of Bergen, school bus driver for the Churchville-Chili School District for over 30 years, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Unity Hospital. Mrs. Foster was born October 19, 1931 in Spencerport, a daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Carson Maier. She is predeceased by her son Ron Arva who passed away in 2013, her grandson Eric Wall who passed away in 2011 and her five siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Earle W. Foster; her children, Michael (Janet) Arva of Greece, James (Kathy) Arva of Concord, California and Marjorie Wall of Bergen; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles, Francis, Donald, Virginia, Theresa and Laurie and several nieces and nephews.
A devoted and devout Catholic, she was a proud mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. A devoted aunt, she was known by her nieces and nephews as "Aunt Mitzi". She was a gifted and natural athlete who was always kept herself active. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, working in her flower beds, poetry and baking.
Friends may call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue, Bergen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen. Burial will be in North Byron Cemetery, Byron.
