Virginia Ruth Manning, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2015 with family by her side. Ms. Manning was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Rainy and Agnes Marie Whaley Manning; 2 sisters, Atha Dell Hazelrig and Betty Joan Stroud; her brother, Horace Jerold Manning, and former husband, Hobert Ballard.
"Jenny" as she was affectionately known, grew up during the great depression and had a very tuff childhood. She began working in the cotton fields at the young age of 10. Always the creative one, she went on from this early hardship to be a successful business owner and very loving housewife, mother, great friend and creative artist. Jenny was a very talented crafter, seamstress, beautician, gardener, flower arranger and professional artist. She loved her family, music, singing, creating things, and her pets, (especially her cat-Mr. Kitty). Ms. Manning was a much in demand hair stylist in the Huntsville area for over 40 years and also owner of the Second Hand Rose Store and Imagination Creations Designs that she had started. Jenny Manning was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many!
You may visit with the family on Sunday evening at Valhalla Funeral Home from 5:00- 7:00 PM. There will be a funeral service on Monday, March 9, 2015 conducted by Bro. Billy Loveday commencing at 10:00 AM in Valhalla's Chapel. The interment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
