It's from the cocktail lounge to the kitchen for Private Albert "Cabbie" Mariucci, former mixologist
at the Dickinson Hotel Lounge. He is still "mixing 'em" - only now it is hash in the United States
Army kitchens of Uncle Sam at Camp Rowie, Texas, where he is with the 21st Chemical Company.
(June 1942, Daily News, Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan.)

RAPID PROMOTIONS
Albert "Cabbie" Mariucci, former bartender at the Dickinson Hotel, Iron Mountain, is really making
a headway for a fellow who has been in the United States Army for only 4 months. Mariucci entered
Camp Bowie, Texas, as a cook's helped & it was not long before he became 2nd cook, then Private
first class & now he is Mess Sergeant Mariucci. 5 ratings in 4 months is something to crow about
in any man's Army. (June 1, 1942, Iron Mountain Press, Dickinson, Michigan.)
