Florence Marion Johanna Mariucci died Oct. 8, 2012, at Northglenn Heights Assisted Living in Northglenn, Colo.

She left this world for her heavenly home. She had lived at Northglenn Heights since March 5, 2012.

Florence was born March 26, 1926, to Eino and Tyne (Seppala) Johnson in Florenton, Minn. She graduated from Embarrass High School in May 1943, and entered the Kahler School of Nursing, Rochester, Minn. in 1944 and graduated in 1947. She married Emil Mariucci, son of Sabatino and Lena Mariucci, Nov. 9, 1947, at the home of her parents in Vermilion Township, St. Louis County. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. R.J.L. Aho of Ely.

Florence worked as a nurse at the Virginia Medical Center Hospital from 1947 to 1955. After the family moved to Aurora, she worked for the Aurora Clinic from 1957 to 1960. After moving to Colorado with her family she worked in various clinics and before retiring in 1988 was a charge nurse at the Brighton Care Center in Brighton, Colo. for 13 years.

After retirement, she and Emil traveled in their motorhome until March 1991, at which time Emil died. Then on July 25, 1992, she married Jorma Kangas at Grace Lutheran Church in Ely. She lived for 18 years in Las Vegas, Nev.

Florence was busy in her retirement years with all her hobbies of knitting, crocheting, weaving rugs, sewing, playing golf, cards, bingo and Scrabble.

Florence was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Janel McGuire, Jerelyn (Randy) Duran, and son, Steven Mariucci; grandchildren, Tanya (Jeff) Bratton, Megan (Terry) Beauman, Erin McGuire, Ingrid Mathieu and Joshua Bollman; five great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Helen Esala and Elaine (Leonard) Wilson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will take place in Vermilion Township Cemetery.
