Eldora H. Markunas, 87, of Galien, Michigan died Saturday afternoon, September 15, 2012 at Jordan's Life Care Center in Bridgman, Michigan.
Eldora was born December 17, 1924 in Three Oaks, Michigan to Henry and Mary H. (Rohl) Mangold. She graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1942 and on November 13, 1948 Eldora married Edward J. Markunas at the Three Oaks First Congregational Church. Ed and Eldora made their home in Galien. Eldora was employed as a Payroll Clerk for Jack Post Corporation in Galien and also Buchanan, retiring in 1990 after 18 years of service.
Survivors include her sons, Duane (Sherry) Markunas of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Alan Markunas of Three Oaks; granddaughter, Janet Markunas of Three Oaks and her sister, Marilyn Peterson of Sawyer, Michigan. Eldora's husband, Ed, preceded her in death on January 30, 2011
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Pobocik Funeral Home, Three Oaks, Michigan with the Reverend Richard Zeiger officiating. Interment will follow at Forest lawn Cemetery in Three Oaks. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
