Mrs. P. J. Cronin Passes

Well-Known Resident Of Portland Dead – Charter Member of Visiting Nurse Association Active Worker in Local Societies.

Mrs. P. J. Cronin died yesterday afternoon, following a brief illness. [illegible] mass of requiem will be offered by the Most Rev. Edward S. Howard, archbishop of Portland in Oregon, in the Cathedral church tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock.

Mrs. Cronin was born in Brattleboro, Vt., August 15, 1849. She was married to P. J. Cronin in Boston in 1869 and moved to California with him by way of the Isthmus of Panama. In 1877 they came to Portland, where Mr. Cronin founded the firm, now dealing in automobile accessories, which bears his name.

Mrs. Cronin was a charter member and organizer of the Portland Visiting Nurse association and servied on the board of directors for a number of years. She was active in the Catholic Ladies' Aid and was an active worker in the St. Agnes Baby home.

She is survived by five children—A. P. Cronin, Portland; J. P. Cronin, Seattle; Miss Katherine Cronin and Mrs. H. W. Skuse of Portland, and Rev. William B. Cronin, now traveling in Italy. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
