Dies in Automobile Accident: Thrown to the pavement by the impact of a collision of the Ford bug on which she was riding, with a Nash sedan, Mrs. Nina Barnthouse, 27, wife of Frank Barnthouse, Liberty street, last night suffered injuries which resulted in her death at the hospital less than an hour after the accident.
Mrs. Viola Humphrey, owner of the Fairview Rooms, died a short time after the accident, her death said to have been due to the excitement connected with the mishap.
The accident brought grief to many as Mrs. Barnthouse was well known in Ashland. She was born in Idaho in March, 1904, and had just passed her 27th birth anniversary. She was the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John Martin and was known as Nina Martin Barnthouse. Her marriage to Frank Barnthouse, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Jack Barnthouse of this city, occurred in 1923, and has since made her home here. Previous to that time her life in Oregon was spent in Clackamas county and Medford.
She is survived by her parents, and by three brothers, Jack, Theron and Earl, a sister, Mrs. Doris Kiser of Portland, and her husband, Frank Barnthouse.
Funeral arrangements have not been made pending the arrival of relatives.
