A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 1998, in Simon Funeral Chapel in Woodburn for Ethel Adkins, who died May 17 at age 89.

Mrs. Adkins was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Elsie, Neb., and was raised in Arthur, Neb., where she taught school. She moved to Woodburn in 1973. She married Leo B. in 1929; he died in 1983.

Survivors include her son, Melvin of Lodi, Calif.; daughters, Barbara Bernard of Redding, Calif., Beverly Helvie of Wilsonville and Nancy Whitney of Ojai, Calif.; brother, Floyd Martin of Harrah, Okla.; sisters, Edna Kieselhorst of Alliance, Neb., and Harriet Wilson of Arthur; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Interment will be in Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association.
