Elizabeth was born in Portland to Ray and Georgianna Martin. Elizabeth was a teacher both in the classroom and out, always eager to instruct and educate both young and old. She lived her entire life in and around Portland. Her early years were spent in Laurelhurst where she attended All Saints Grade School and Holy Child Academy High School. Elizabeth attended U of O Nursing School in Portland, then graduated from Oregon State with a degree in biology, June 1960. Her first job was at Carolina Biological Supply Company in Gladstone, where she met her husband. They married in September 1961. Elizabeth received her teaching certificate in June 1962 and taught biology at West Linn High School until her first child was born in 1965. She continued substitute teaching until 2006. Her other passion was wildlife and country living. In 1973, the family moved to the Stafford area farm, surrounded by the wildlife and pets she cherished. She left this paradise for the next last Thursday night.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; daughters, Betsy and her husband, Loren, Mary and her husband, Mike; and grandchildren, Claire and Henry.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at Cornwell Colonial Chapel Wilsonville, 29222 SW Town Center Loop E, preceded by a viewing at 10 a.m. Private committal at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Oregon Humane Society.
